Correction principles
DiplomatsWorld aims to correct material factual errors promptly, proportionately and transparently. A correction should address the inaccurate statement without obscuring what changed.
Material factual errors
Errors involving names, dates, figures, quotations, official positions, locations or the central meaning of a report receive priority. Minor spelling or formatting changes that do not affect meaning may be corrected without a formal notice.
Updates and corrections
New information may be added as an update when the original reporting was accurate at publication. When published information was materially wrong, the article should be corrected and, where useful to readers, carry a clear note explaining the change.
Transparency
Corrections must not be used to silently rewrite the substance of a published report. Publication and update dates should remain visible, and source records should be preserved where appropriate.
