What happened

The United Nations in Bangladesh published an updated snapshot of the 2025–26 Joint Response Plan for the Rohingya humanitarian crisis.

For 2026, the plan requires $710.5 million to reach 1.6 million Rohingya refugees and members of host communities.

Why it matters

Its priorities include protection, life-saving assistance, local livelihoods, disaster management and climate resilience.

The plan brings together 98 partners under Government of Bangladesh leadership and reiterates the objective of voluntary, safe and sustainable repatriation.
