Two newly-constructed Temporary Operational Bases have been inaugurated at Aracchatala Tila and Haturani Tila along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border in Ghumdhum Union of Naikhyangchhari upazila in Bandarban district.
The new TOBs will further strengthen the surveillance and operational capabilities of Border Guard Bangladesh along the frontier, according to a press release issued in Dhaka on September 16, 2026.
During the inauguration, the region commander inspected various facilities of the bases and gave necessary instructions to the BGB personnel deployed there to perform their duties with utmost vigilance, professionalism, and efficiency to ensure border security.
The installations would also enhance the force's operational capabilities in preventing drug trafficking, smuggling, and illegal infiltration, while ensuring the safety and security of people living in the border areas.
