Nepalese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanashyam Bhandari said Nepal remains open to tourists as the 13th Asian Tourism Fair opened in Dhaka.
He highlighted the resilience of Nepal’s tourism industry in the wake of recent flash floods that affected the country.
Bhandari urged visitors to continue travelling, noting that Nepal’s tourism sector remains largely operational.
The ambassador also stressed the importance of strengthening tourism cooperation and promoting greater people‑to‑people exchanges between Bangladesh and Nepal.
The three‑day fair, held at the International Convention City Bashundhara, runs from Thursday to Saturday and includes a 10‑member delegation of Nepali tour operators and travel agencies.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat addressed the inaugural ceremony as chief guest.
Endorsed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and supported by BPC and the Bangladesh Tourism Board, the event features over 200 organisations from ten countries across nearly 300 booths.
Cultural performances from Bangladesh, Nepal and the Philippines will be staged each evening, showcasing regional tourism ties.
