Prime Minister’s adviser Mahdi Amin has urged Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi to ensure that fugitive allies of fascism and convicted criminals staying in India are not able to attempt to create instability in Bangladesh.
Mahdi, who also serves as spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, made the call when Trivedi paid a courtesy call on him at the PMO this morning. Indian Deputy High Commissioner Pawan Badhe was also present at the meeting.
The meeting discussed ways to further improve bilateral relations and strengthen people-to-people contacts between the two countries. It also emphasised the need to strengthen the democratic environment and values of both countries.
Both sides agreed to elevate bilateral relations to a sustainable and dignified level based on mutual respect, equality, fairness and justice. They held constructive discussions on resolving existing issues and challenges through mutual dialogue and cooperation.
Discussing the multidimensional framework of bilateral relations, the two sides stressed strengthening cooperation in education, health, sports, culture and tourism. They also discussed expanding business, trade and investment.
Highlighting the immense potential of information technology and innovation, both sides agreed to enhance mutual cooperation in promising areas, including science and technology.
