Jamaat-e-Islami has expressed gratitude to outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen for his contribution to creating an environment for dialogue during the country's political transition following the July uprising.
Jamaat Ameer and Leader of the Opposition Shafiqur Rahman conveyed this appreciation during a farewell meeting with the Chinese envoy held at the opposition leader’s official residence on Minto Road in Dhaka.
According to an official Jamaat press release, party leaders specifically praised the ambassador's positive role in improving relations among different political parties in Bangladesh.
During the meeting, the two sides engaged in discussions regarding various issues of mutual interest concerning both Bangladesh and China.
Both parties expressed optimism that economic, political, trade, and diplomatic relations between the two nations would continue to strengthen in the coming days.
They also emphasized their shared hope that Bangladesh and China would work closely together to accelerate bilateral cooperation, ongoing development, and mutual progress.
Ambassador Yao Wen was accompanied during the farewell visit by Chinese embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Dr Liu Yuyin, Cultural Counsellor Li Shaopeng, Attaché Liang Shuying, and Political Affairs Attaché Wang Daowei.
