Dhaka – Ambassador of the European Union Delegation to Bangladesh, H.E. Michael Miller, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Humaiun Kobir, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, congratulating him on his recent appointment.
Both officials expressed satisfaction with the longstanding and mutually beneficial Bangladesh‑EU partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to deepen multifaceted engagement.
The two sides discussed avenues to deepen cooperation in trade and investment, including early progression towards formal negotiations on a Bangladesh‑EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
They also exchanged views on migration management and aviation, highlighting cooperation on sustainable development and the upcoming United Nations General Assembly.
The State Minister thanked the EU for its continued humanitarian support to Rohingya refugees and said the issue would remain high on the agenda.
