What happened
Bangladesh and Turkmenistan held political consultations in Ashgabat and reviewed the full range of bilateral relations.
Energy security featured prominently, alongside possible cooperation in fertilizer, petrochemicals, garments, pharmaceuticals and investment.
Why it matters
The two governments agreed to work toward a 2027–2029 programme of action covering economic, cultural, tourism and diplomatic cooperation.
They also discussed coordination at the UN, OIC and Non-Aligned Movement and agreed that the next consultations should be held in Dhaka.
